About me.
My name is Tom Slusher, and I’m an Analytics Leader with over 10 years experience using applied economics and analytics methods to solve business problems. I am a skilled analyst with significant experience advising C-Suite leaders and building high-performing teams. I’ve worked with everyone from small startups to large global brands and tailor my solutions to each of my client’s needs.
Personal background
I currently live and work in the Atlanta area, where I’ve been for nearly 12 years now. I am originally from the NW suburbs of Chicago and often return to visit family and enjoy the beautiful Chicago summers. After completing my degrees in Economics and French at Beloit College, I moved south for work and found a second home here in Atlanta.
Musical Experience
In addition to my analytics experience, I am an accomplished singer. I started singing at age 11 after a performance by the high school Show Choir inspired me to switch from Trumpet to Voice. Currently, I sing with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus and take private lessons with Professor Maria McDaniel. I occasionally perform at local churches and events in the Atlanta area and jump at any opportunity to perform.
Creative Hobbies
In my spare time I dabble in several instruments, primarily piano, guitar, and harmonica. Still, I can never resist the urge to try something new. I’m currently working on learning drums and a harmony double ocarina.
I love gardening and have been cultivating a native plant landscape at my home over the past few years. My garden also facilitates many creative hobbies. I use leftover wood for carving, make teas and dyes from available plants, and built digital tools to track the changes in my landscape.
As you may have guessed, I am a bit of a nerd. I love to cosplay and make things celebrating my favorite shows, movies, and games. I am a regular at Dragon Con and the GA RenFest, though I’m sometimes hard to spot in costume.
If all that’s not enough, I picked up mold making and resin crafting during the COVID-19 pandemic. I primarily make polyhedral dice for tabletop gaming, but have also made coasters, figurines, jewelry, and shift knobs.
